Twitter and D&D - How I came to love this combo

I bought a twitter! But it won't work with my AOL. :(

Okay, I joke. I use twitter every day, all day sometimes. It's a great way to communicate. I've talked to other industry folks, worked out reviews (both for my stuff and of other peoples work), discussed the ins and outs of rules and just about everything else you can think of over twitter.

If you're not using it and you do any of those things, you should seriously consider it.

Another thing I like about Twitter, as a gamer, is that it changes the blogosphere paradigm a bit.

I follow a lot of gaming blogs, but even so they're just a drop in the bucket. There's just too much out there for anyone with an iota of a life to keep up on.

But nowadays, if someone out there pens a particularly interesting or insightful post, links will circulate through the gaming twitterverse pretty quickly. So I find I'm reading more interesting bits and pieces with less actual blog trolling.

It's been a little while now, so I was hoping to hear from those who said they were gonna check out Twitter or who were using it already, but were going to check out TweetDeck.

Some of those include the following...

ourchair
Tarrl
MortalPlague
Markn
Otterscrubber
DizzySaxophone
Scribble

[odd, MENTION tags aren't working]

But also I'm curious how you are liking the setup so far Russ - you seem to be quite active, so I assume it's going at least okay.

I've been using it since you posted this- and I really like it. Makes using Twitter much easier.

Although whether one more D&D related time suck is a good thing or not... :D

I've been using it as well since the initial post. I've had a Twitter acccounts for quite sometime, even had TweetDeck installed at one time or other. They key was getting active on it, posting things, responding to things, etc. Makes it a whole new world. I was able to vicariously live through others for PaizoCon and for the early days of Origins until I get there on Saturday. So definitely a useful post.

I'm enjoying it so far. It's cool when you realise how many people you know are on there, and then how many people you don't know but know of.

I like how much less intimidating it is to interact with "famous" people on Twitter with a 140 character limit. Plus how much more likely you are to get responded to.

Good Post. As an avid user of Twitter, I can say that that's a pretty solid set-up you've got there. I might have to try combining D&D with my twitter usage as well.
