Yes. Of course I would pound a piton in under the chain, secure a rope the end of the chain, run it through the piton and then string the rope through the doorway and pull it from there!![]()
*roll* No, you don't find any traps, and in fact that big red lever over there appears to be made out of candy!
Yup, that's what henchman and 10' poles are for.![]()
A crafty trapsmith would trap the hallway since the rogue would look for traps in the room. =)
It's interesting to note how differently this poll is going (so far) from as similar one from 4 years ago: http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/174075-good-idea-pull-lever-dungeon.html
Wait, wait, wait, we have found our objective and we're looking for ways to lose it? No, no, no, you have your objective, get the heck out of that dungeon and continue your main quest. If it really bugs you, you can "finish" the dungeon some other time. Personally, I hope me and my party don't even know the chain exists because we would never have done the "Going there" part. You’ve finished off your objective in this dungeon, but your mapper points out an area in the back corner of the complex that your group never checked. Going there, you find a room empty except for a pull-chain hanging from the ceiling. You search the room and find a secret door in one wall. You can’t find a way to open the door. The rogue searches the door and the chain for traps, and finds none.
