[July] What are you playing?

I bought Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition when Steam had it on sale and I'm still playing that modded out with a ton of graphical enhancements (Better Bodies, Better Cities, etc.) and all the graphics turned all the way up (I just got a new computer around the middle of last month). I played through it before once, but didn't do many of the guild quests. This time, I completed the Fighter's Guild and Arena quests before even starting the main quest.

After I play this on out again, I'm trying to decide if I'll move on to Mass Effect 1/2, or just wait for Fallout: New Vegas in October.

I just took advantage of Steam sale and brought Civiization IV complete. I hardly have time to do anything else.

On the PC, the only game I'm currently playing (in between sporadic fits of unpacking from my recent move) is Guild Wars.

On the PS2, my SO and I are playing Lord of the Rings: The Third Age in Co-op mode.

Natural Environments is nice. Better Bodies makes the citizenry less ugly. If your computer can handle it, I recommend Better Cities, as well.

Obscuro's Oblivion Mod is a must if you're not a fan of random bandits being a threat to you by the time you're the world savior and walking around in Daedric Armor.

And if you want to buy the house in Skingrad, I recommend "Romancing Eyja" because otherwise, there is no romance subquest anywhere in the game.

Well, mostly. If you go to Oblivion Nexus and search on what I typed, you'll probably find them (if you don't see them first thing, sort by Endorsements and then Descending).

Obscuro's is best found by Googling "Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul." The programmer doesn't host it on Oblivion Nexus for whatever reason, but it's totally worth installing.

I also recommend Oblivion Mod Manager and Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE; it's required for certain mods).

The best thing to do is install one mod then run the game. If it doesn't crash, exit out and install another one. That way, if you run into one that does crash the game, you'll know it's the last one install rather than trying to wrack your brain (and possible wreck your game) figuring out what the problem is.

Sid Meier's Pirates! I like me some pirate action, especially romancing the beautiful governor's daughters. All of the them; even the plain ones. I'm a pirate and need a booty call in every port. Argh!
