[Trailer] Age of The Dragons

Well, sure, that would be ideal. But there's nothing he can do there until the whole MGM clusterf*ck gets sorted out. He might as well turn his attention to projects he can work on.

And as an aside on dragons: I wish WotC would partner with a really good animation studio and start cranking out animated features of their better novels, or even altogether original storylines. And, while I'm making fantastical wishes, I wish they'd find the conviction to actually invest in the projects, to treat their own property with some respect and dignity and get someone in there for quality control, because that Dragons of Autumn Twilight thing was just horrendous.
Oh, you can say that again. I saw snippets of that animation on cable and really, the old D&D cartoon was *leagues* better than it!

I have hopes that the D&D comic book serves as a testing ground for multi-media D&D properties.

I'd love to see a Dark Sun movie! It's different enough from typical medieval fantasy, yet more relatable than "out there" stuff like Spelljammer or Planescape.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say the original D&D cartoon was leagues better (it mostly just has nostalgia on its side), but I would say the old Rankin-Bass Hobbit and Return of the King animated movies are vastly superior animation. And considering those were also 20+ years ago, I think that's really frickin' sad.

WotC seriously needs to partner with Warner Bros., and get the same guys who are doing some of the DC Comics animated features to take a swing at a D&D animated movie. Then they just need a decent writer to come up with a script, hopefully one that is more concerned with telling a compelling action/adventure story in a vivid fantasy setting rather than merely creating a 2-hour D&D fan service nerdfest.

Dragon Slayer - yes it is a bit dated but one great ass dragon in it!

Own the DVD. And, yeah, despite its age, Dragonslayer has probably one of the best dragons ever committed to screen. It's just a shame most everything else leading up to that is relatively 'meh'.
