Anyone remember this ad?

Just inventoried my order. In addition to the broken trays, which I mentioned above, they did not include the bases which should have come with the trays (a small and a medium in each of the 6 colors).

I must say, I'm very disappointed with how sloppy their packing was. Just sent an addendum to them about the missing bases. Still way too early to comment on their customer service, of course.

I may order some of the miniature bases from Dapper Devil. Can anyone tell me what you think about these bases? Do they stick tight around the base or does the mini just sit on it (if I pick the mini up, does the base stay on the table or does it stay around the mini)?

The miniatures sit in them loosely. The bases are thick enough that they're very easy to pick up by the bases, though.

I should have checked my email, they actually did already get back to me about the first message (the broken trays) and said they'd have replacements out tomorrow. So, the customer service is good at least, and ultimately that's the most important thing.

What is your opinion of the bases? Are you glad to have them?

I'm kind of worried that if they fit loosely, it will be like moving cups around the table with coasters underneath them. Maybe I'm just being up-tight, but it seems like that could be annoying. But if they are worth using, I'll definitely invest in some.

I'd liken it more to moving miniatures in a cup, if you'll excuse a bit of hyperbole...

Obviously I don't have any in-game experience with them yet. Starting a new campaign tomorrow and may or may not have combat, so we'll see then.

Just wanted to follow up... The replacements arrived yesterday, packaged much better.

It seems to me you could put a very small spot of Blu-Tack into the base to keep it snugly in place. I have been very interested in these things for a while. I doubt I'll get the trays (I have 2 copies of Scrabble that has trays that should fit the status tokens) but the other things (mini bases, status tokens etc) I am very interested in.

Well that is good news. Hopefully your initial shipment was just a fluke.

Has anyone else ordered from these guys?

Too lazy to check whether I already mentioned this, but according to the customer support it was indeed a fluke. They said the person packing that day didn't usually do the packing.

They also included some more tokens (patterns I hadn't bought) as a mea culpa.
