[3.5] Destroy Lorwyn! (Evil Campaign) (Recruiting)

I understand how to get a creature's ECL by combining racial HD with its LA, but not sure how to do it for a creature with no stated LA. The quasit listed here has only HD and a CR, no LA. Where do you get ECL 6? Regardless, quasit sounds like a cool choice. We can work something out for advancement beyond what's in the MM.

Heroes of Horror is allowed, totally forgot to add that. BoED and BoVD are also allowed. The only thing I don't have access to is Dragon Magazine, anything else that's 3.5 should be fine.

There's still room. I want 4, maximum 6 people.

I should clarify about the actual adventure though, since I've already built the majority of it. You're generals under Chandra but you're also the elite strike force that Chandra relies on to accomplish missions that require small numbers, either due to stealth or inaccessibility of armies. The majority of the campaign will actually be you guys taking on important missions to further the war effort much like a regular party would. You'll eventually have legions under your command, but much has to be done before that time.

Mechanically speaking, there will be combat, which can solve practically anything with varying degrees of difficulty, but also tons of room for stealth, diplomacy, trickery etc. Oh, and expect traps. :]

I'm thinking I'd like to go with a Dragonborn(Heart Aspect), but I've a question for you as a DM.

I'd really like to be able to get the wings and tail feats, but each requires character level 1st. Would it be possible for me to elect those as my first two feats? I'd offer some compromise on it, but I'm not sure what that would be. I would have just used the Half-Dragon Template, but that requires the PC to be large sized in order to gain wings(And I can't get large sized for 1 LA outside of the Half-Minotaur and Half-Ogre templates from dragon; which would be kinda cheesy.)

No worries, you can take those feats after 1st level.

EDIT: Updated the allowed sources. Every WOTC 3.5 book is allowed but I don't have access to Dragon Magazine. I've never dealt with psionics or incarnum before but they're perfectly acceptable too as long as I can bug you about mechanics questions now and then.

Awesome.

Okay. I am considering either a Totemist(Magic of Incarnum) or a Warblade(Tome of Battle) class. I think one of the deciding factors will be this: Powerful Build says that "A (Race with Powerful build) can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty. However, his space and reach remain those of a creature of his actual size. The benefits of this racial trait stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject’s size category." It doesn't state whether or not this would effect the 'size' of natural weapons.

How do you feel about them in relation to Powerful Build?

EDIT: Eh, since it lets you wield weapons one size larger, I'll let it apply to natural attacks too. I've never seen a totemist before so it interests me.

Oh, I guess I'll toss in some minor houserules in the main post tommorrow, just forgot about them. Warblade reminded me that I give swordsages the feat "adaptive style" for free at level 1.

if there is a spot i'd like to be considered probably sorceror going sandshaper via Sandstorm if that is viable, i believe eventually ends up as a lich which fits in., not sure on race, but thinkin elan might be cool.

walker in the waste was what i'm thinkin of.

I'd like to change my idea to catfolk (races of wild) ranger going ranged.

Anyone have any suggestions on either tradin away animal companion or a good option for it? (lookin for flying mount if possible)

Advancing ? I used 3,5 manual and it is written that as cohorts quasits equal ECL 6.

I could propose Upper Krust's, "Ascension" rules for the advancement of outsiders. If You wish I could send You the excerpts about the advancing. Basically it is done as such: You double outsider's HD to get ECL, and every 5 HD You get bonuses to stats, special ability and the usual. Things go crazy once You hit 10 HD as it marks Your demon as stepping up into the demonic "nobility" (By Upper Krust's rules) with Balors as landlords who stand at the bottom of demonic lordship, Queen of Chaos standing at the top ... och, she's deposed. :p

I plan to capitalize on Quasit's Bluff, Sense Motives and Spot for negotiating missions. And minuscule hand-crossbow with magical case creating bolts from ice made of his venom. For hardcore ... diplomacy.

Thus ... is our Big Boss a unique fiend ? What is the secret of it's sucesses ? Perhaps it have brain and is a thinking entity ? Maybe, Abyss forbids, isn't acting evil for evil's sake and rewards capable people for loyalty ?!

i do have a question going with a ranger bounty hunter type.

would elves and humans be good candidates for Favored enemy?

how does str 14, dex 16, con 14, int 14 , wis 12, cha 8 sound before racials as probable stats

It sounds like you must be an undead without a con score since there's only 5 stats. :P
