Gamma World card back question

Anybody have any insight as to why the two different types of cards have the same card back design? It's important that players draw from the correct decks, but with the GM having two decks, and each player optionally having two decks, it would be so much cleaner if the Alpha deck and the Omega decks actually looked, well... different.

I have no idea, it seems like a major oversight to me. I intend to sleeve the cards in different-colored backs.

I haven't read the rules thoroughly, but I know of no situation where ambiguity between alpha mutations and omega tech would be desirable.

Probably so the GM can add them to his decks, if he wants to.

You're missing the point. GMs and PCs use the same cards. The issue is that there are two different types of cards in two different decks.

Lazy devs?
Printer fumble?
Cost?
Oversight?
For the ability to combine the decks if one wants to?

Honestly, I think it's either laziness or cost. if it was a printer fumble, WoTC would have gotten them re-printed (cost). I'm sure the Devs are smart enough to know that being lazy wont earn them money. If it was an oversight, then the devs, internal playtesters, external playtesters, editors, and and anyone else who saw them didn't notice.

The last one... probably would be brought up in the rulebook if it was intended as an option.
