Hulu and Syfy?

You do know Syfy canceled Caprica and pulled it from their lineup right after the October 26th episode, right?

I knew it was canceled, but I thought they would air the remaining episodes.

Ah, I just read, the remaining episodes will air on SyFy during the first quarter of 2011.

Canceled? Doh!

If they removed it from their lineup then we might never see the remaining episodes. Apparently they thought they'd earn more if they put another show in its slot. Hopefully they'll realize that airing those shows digitally (like on Hulu) won't cost them anything they haven't already spent and we'll get to see them, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

That is, unless this was actually the last episode that got filmed.

Hah! My "don't watch American shows until they have 3 years behind them because you know they'll, like, cancel it halfway through the episode you're watching" rule has been validated again!

Now I know not to watch it! I just can't watch TV like that. I need to know that I'm watching a full story arc for definite before I start - even if it's a shorter story arc, at least I know that in advance, rather than having the rug pulled out from under me.

Huh, I didn't know this wasn't well known here. It literally happened the the day after the most recent episode aired. I would have posted something sooner, then. Sorry!

I've heard that Canada's Space (basically the Canadian version of Syfy, except ten times more awesome) is playing the remaining episodes. If you wanted to watch them via illegal means, you could probably do that as they get aired as well.

Caprica's ratings were slightly worse than SGU. It's the primary reasoning for most people assuming SGU will be canceled as well (probably during the mid-season break in January).

Aw, I love SGU. :.-( But not enough to pay an extra $50 a month to see it the day it airs and get counted in the ratings. (I watch it only through Hulu.)

I like the show enough, but I can understand that a lot of fans are irritated with the soapy plots and glacial pacing of the show.

I'm sure the ratings aren't helped by them bumping the online offerings a full month off either. There's a lot of impatient people who will just pirate it rather than wait the month, and the views for the episodes on Hulu and Syfy.com will probably plummet as a result.
