Transformers: 3010

In the comic books, Prowl and several other autobots were resurrected by Grimlock using an unstable power source called Nucleon. It brought them back online but froze them in robot mode (thus bringing the action masters in to the continuity).

Though the G2 comic mostly followed the G1 continuity, they quietly left the action master aspect of some characters out of it, never fully explaining how they managed to regain the ability to transform.

In my not so humble opinion, the Beast era has some really memorable characters (and given that most of them are at least partially organic, they could be hunted renegades like the remaining "masters" style characters).

I was already thinking that I'd use the Beast era characters in that fashion. The Autobots will be more tolerant towards Techno-Organics, but the "masters" are outlawed because of a complication that arose from the combining of Transformer and humanoid life. I'm thinking addiction or mania.

It could be that the power master format (where the humanoid partner becomes the transformer's engine) had the unforeseen consequence of draining the humanoid's life energy, eventually killing them. The same problem could've resulted from the target master process. This would explain humanoids becoming resentful of the process and Transformers in general.

Similarly, the transformers who were subjected to or volunteered for the bonding process could end up resenting being trapped in alternate mode without their partners (as head masters and power masters were) or stuck without their weapons (for target masters).

Those are very interesting ideas and quite logical. The Autobots would outlaw the formats because they'd be unwilling to risk the lives of their allies.

The Decepticons would have kept human slaves and forced them through the process, but it wouldn't have lasted long. Eventually, the process would have become difficult to justify, plus seen a weakness.

No Transformer would want to be trapped in alt mode or be without thier weapon regardless of allegiance.

Plus, the bonding process would be seen as "unclean" to those Transformers that believe in the purity of cybernetic life. All techno-organics would be subject to cybernetic-intolernce.

I'm also thinking that a human conglomerate once dabbled in "master" technology that robbed the Transformer of its will. The machines became slaves to the "human handlers." There minds were drained away. The darkest amongst humanity killed and chopped up several Autobots and Decepticons to Frankenstein new Transformers loyal only to Earth.

The Vok (from Beast Wars) are inspired from and/or derived from the swarm entity in the Generation 2 comic books. The G2 comic book also introduced a third faction of Cybertronians, who left Cybertron prior to the war between Autobots and Decepticons.

Are you planning on using the Quintessons at all or are they extinct by 3010?

I'm not sure how much the Vok will be in what I write, at this point. I included the race for completeness.

I'm aware of the Cybertronians and have added them to my section on Other Allegiances. Liege Maximo rules the Cybertronian Empire; however, I've included Bludgeon and his exiled Decepticon forces (*) as being converted to the Cybertronian way of life.

They are no longer Pretenders having been reformatted as Cybertronians. Their robot forms still look eeriely similar to their Pretender forms (see here for the 2010 movie version of Bludgeon).

Bludgeon is Liege Maximo's newest Liege Centuro. His "Exiles" still serve under him. Each of them has budded off at least one new Transformer. They are considered "new blood" in the Empire. They are considered elite soldiers and it is their duty to try to "convert" other Transformers, by any means possible, to join the Empire.

*Bomb-Burst, Finback, Iguanus, and Skullgrin.

The Quintessions are in my list of Other Allegiances too.
