(1) I'm sure the answer is "yes," but witches can be male, right? This is a case of an unfortunate illustrative pronoun.

(2) Are hexes time limited, beyond specific descriptions?

1) Yes. Witch technically is not a gender word. Though due to stories, myths, movies etc most people equate them to female.

2) What do you mean by time limited? Do you mean do they have durations? Not sure on your question.

(1) I'd say yes; I don't see an explicit no.

(2) It seems that only blight and cauldron don't have explicit durations. I would rule that either ends once another hex is placed, or if the witch ends it earlier.

Sorry about the lack of clarity. Let me try again:

"If not otherwise specified in the hex description, is there any limit on how often a hex can be used?""

My assumption is "no;" that, like 3.5's warlock's invocations, hexes are unlimited, but I just want to be sure.

Depends on the hex, most are only once per target per 24 hours. On some others like Blight you can only have one such hex active at a given time.

Hopefully that answers you question.
