I just have a few Q's...

Ariosto said:
(1) "The cockatrice is not a strong, steady flyer, and will not go above 300' unless provoked into one of its screaming fits of rage." (DMG, p. 51)

Ya gotta love the AD&D Dmg. It has answers for EVERYTHING. :p

Tidus - well, it looks like you're playing in Greyhawk, judging by those questions, so, I'll give you a pretty little link to more Greyhawk goodness than you could ever possibly want:

The Oerth Journal

Happy reading.

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. (No questions from the DM) But I have new bonus questions that I've been researching them since I got off of work at 2:30 am. (Its now 5:30am...Zzzzzzzz) Anyway... The questions for this week are:

Reward: 150,000 xp (Group)
Question: In the Forgotten Realms world, what is the name of the general store in Hap?

Reward: 50,000 xp (Group)
Question: In the following sentence, tell me what is being discusses...

"___________ properly refers to the state of mind of "troops" during combat or stress situations. Stupid creatures tend to fight to the death. So do creatures with a set purpose in mind - elite, guards, and fanatical creatures."

Reward: 5,000 xp (Individual)
Question: In 1st Edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, there are 8 known planes of existence. List them.

Thanks for any help with these!!!

Curse of the Azure Bonds was last played a long time ago. I don't recall the store names.

The missing word is morale.

For the planes of existence, AD&D 1e Player's Handbook actually lists 25 on page 121.

He's probably referring to Figure 1 which shows the Inner Planes only.

Prime Material,
Positive Material
Negative Material
Four Elemental (Air, Earth, Fire, Water)
and Ethereal.

Figure 2 immediately below shows the Outer Planes and shows the Inner/Outer relationship.

Thanks Nagol. Last minute question:

Reward: 100,000 xp (Group)
Question: Each fantasy gaming system is set within its own world and many see those as Alternant Prime Material Planes. List the name of these worlds for each of the following gaming systems;

Greyhawk
Forgotten Realms
Dark Sun
Gamma World
Eberron
Dragonlance
Blackmoor

Thanks Nagol. Last minute question:

Reward: 100,000 xp (Group)
Question: Each fantasy gaming system is set within its own world and many see those as Alternant Prime Material Planes. List the name of these worlds for each of the following gaming systems:...

  • Greyhawk = Oerth
  • Forgotten Realms = Toril or Abeir-Toril (both are used - the inhabitants equally call it Toril and, especially in 4E, Abeir-Toril due to the return of the Abeir portion after the Spellplague)
  • Dark Sun = Athas
  • Gamma World = Earth (trick question;)) - though the inhabitants of Earth in this setting call the world either Gamma World or Gamma Terra.
  • Eberron = Eberron (the worlds name is the same as the campaigns name)
  • Dragonlance = Krynn
  • Blackmoor = Mystara* (also known as The Known World) *this is where Dave Arneson's original Blackmoor Campaign Setting was situated, however there was an Arctic area of the original Greyhawk that was also called Blackmoor, though I believe it's different than Arneson's setting.
To be competely honest, I actually had to look up Eberron and Blackmoor. Off the top of my head, I though Blackmoor was on Oerth - the same as Greyhawk - but I was wrong. And I've never played Eberron...

Well I was too late to game so I was not able to get any credit for the questions or even hear the answers... :(

And last week I didn't get the question cause I was too busy with the scavenger hunt to even check my e-mail. Blah.

I will post when the new q's are sent out. Thanks all!

Reward: 25,000 XP (individual)
Question: What is the base movement of a character wearing O-Yori?

Question: These creatures are ghoul-like and normally found near cemeteries or in forests or rocky mountains. Once friendly and helpful to men, they have since become one of mankind's deadliest enemies. What are they?

All three look related to AD&D Oriental Adventures.

O-Yori is Japanese plate so its movement rate is almost certainly 6".
