Golden Raspberries 2010

They announced the nominees for the Golden Raspberry awards today. The biggest nominees were Twilight Eclipse and The Last Airbender (not to be confused with Avatar). I thought it was funny that Twilight 3 will be competing for Worst Film with the Twilight spoof Vampires Suck. Also up for Worst Picure: The Bounty Hunter and Sex in the City 2.

How were they only able to limit it to five nominees? From what I've heard, this has been one of the worst years for film. How are the Oscars going to find 10 Best Picture nominees? Potential nominees are usually held until December, but last year we got Yogi Bear and Little Fockers.

It's also too bad TV movies aren't included in the Razzies. Sharktopus could have been a strong contender...

I remember when Halle Berry showed up to accept her Razzie for Catwoman. That was great. She so earned it...

Aren't those basically the same movie? How do you spoof something that already looks like a spoof of vampires?

They should have given her an Emmy for that appearance. It was glorious.

Maybe I'm a genre-blind doofus, but I kind of like The Last Airbender. And I never watched one minute of the animated series. It was an entertaining 2 or so hours, campy enough that I thought it evoked an animated series in a live-action film, and frankly just not as bad as Rotten Tomatoes wanted me believe it was. =/
