So somebody paid ~$23 for your PHB on Ebay? Too bad for them, they could have gotten a brand new PHB at Amazon for the same price. Which isn't too bad when you consider these books are a couple years old. Not very many books hold that kind of value after 2 years.phb2 for example Player's Handbook 2: A 4th Edition D&D Core Ruleboo - eBay (item 220702316471 end time Feb-24-11 11:58:02 PST)
ok, it's more like $11.75
maybe I should have stated "resell value"
when I sold my phb2 two months ago I made double that on ebay.
Anyways lots of 4e books are cheep on ebay if you looked hard enough.
on another note things like phb3 are holding there value. but personally I liked phb2 more.
There's a lot of reasons they could be selling low without jumping to the conclusion that the game is dying. In fact, your observation that PHB3 is holding its value would indicate that the game is in fact not dying. Could be that WotC just printed too many. Could be that the market is being flooded with a bunch of used PHBs, driving new prices down too. Could be that Essentials is doing well enough to take a chunk of the "core" market. Could be sunspot activity.

Just curious...why'd you sell your PHB?
