I just came across the Owlbear Revisited art contest from a couple years ago, and one thought came to mind:

Why didn't anybody make a panda owlbear?!?

That would make a sad, sad owlbear.

And they would die out be not having sex.

And when they did reproduce, the offspring would be so tiny and helpless that the momma owlpanda would practically die trying to provide nourishment for it (plus it would be really, really hard to draw a 5-ounce baby owlpanda.)

Aren't pandas pure herbivores? If so, it also explains why there are no were-pandas:

The lycanthrope takes on the characteristics of some type of carnivorous or omnivorous creature of the animal type (referred to hereafter as the base animal).
