Discussion of Scotley's upcoming 4e Swashbuckler Game

Scotley, good point. I'm being oversensitive. Thank you for saving me from myself. :)

Assassins and rogues are plenty different in terms of powers and abilities...

If it helps, my character is mostly stealth and intimidation. And able to scout as a team has it's merits, too.

I like the shielding swordmage better, too. I see my character as a defender of others while leading or controling. Wish I had more powers that worked on multiple enemies.

Hey, I just wanted you to be aware of the options! ;) I'm sure you and Walking Dad are correct. Anyway, you might wind up SHIELDING Manous, too! :)

Comment from the peanut gallery here - Dark Sun themes give you one free encounter power and then a few powers that can be swapped for other powers. I think most, if not all, of the existing themes are pretty strongly tied to Dark Sun (or at least very much not quasi-Europe) and would seem out of place elsewhere.

WotC is supposed to be putting out themes for "generic" D&D at some point.

At some point. But the book that was supposed to have them was canceled, so who knows when that will happen. On the other hand, there are supposed to be themes in the Neverwinter Campaign Setting too, and those ought to be more generic.

Or maybe we will see them in Dragon.

Okay, based on what I'm hearing, I'm going to say no to themes for now, but will revisit the idea when a broader range of themes becomes available. I might even get a wild hair and develop some alt-earth themed... ah themes if that is something everyone is interested in.

Well, I didn't get a chance to work on my PC any this weekend (with the UFC fights Saturday night, and the Superbowl yesterday), but I will start the tweaking process tonight.
