Evard's Background

Given the occasional tendency for early PC's/NPC's to have names similar to the players' names, I was expecting Evard to be the PC of some guy named "Dave R."

I think I'm disappointed, but I'm not sure yet.

Steve Irwin would fit the Shadowfell better, considering how he died.

Why? I didn't know ixitxachitl were native to the Shadowfell?

I seem to recall that in one of the D&D comic mini-series from around five years ago, there was mention of Evard as being a black dragon. I'll see if I can find more information on this later.

Unless I've missed something, all that Evard lore is post-2000 - so not necessarily canonical in classical Greyhawk games. (There is a reference to Evard in Dragon 82, but it is nothing but a name and the Black Tentacle's spell - there is no lore in the article in question.)

Yep, like fanfics, it just doesn't jive with canon, but it is fun to read.
