Limit on the number of characters

OK, so today I reached the 20 characters limit. If I want to create or import a new one, I'll have to export and then delete one first.

Does anyone knows if WotC has mentioned the possibility of increasing this limit in the future? I realize that with the export functionality I can save locally a copy of my "excess" characters, but having to rely on a local copy kind of defeats the whole purpose of having an online only tool for me...

BTW, the purpose of this post is to ask for information, so if you must write about how much you hate WotC and how much the new CB sucks, I'd be glad if you could it in another thread. :)

Paolo mentioned the possibility of more character slots eventually becoming available (this was right around the initial release of the new builder), but stopped well short of making that a promise or providing an ETA.

I'd recommend providing feedback through the customer service interface (from the Load screen, click Help > Report a Bug, select D&D Insider > Character Builder > Other, and voice your desire to have more character slots available.

Yes, I remember Paolo saying that. I was hoping that there might have been an update at some point... :(

Good advice, I'll take time to do that.

Ah cool, so WotC promised an increased character limit by May? Sweet! :p

Seriously though, my guess is that they're looking at the data to see a) how many people are actually hitting the limit and b) how many of the people that have actually hit the limit are actively using/updating those characters. In other words, I could easily log on today and create 20 characters, but if I never touched them again, it would kind of imply that I'm not really playing those characters and so am not all that affected by the limit. (For the record, I love playing around with the CB and so would love to see an expanded limit).

I am at 20 as well! =(

How can I plan for my inevitable character deaths this weekend!?

40 would seem a little reasonable at least to start.
Perhaps having a character archive might be nice too.

AFAIK there hasn't been an update concerning the limit. I would hope that it would be a priority issue for them, as if they plan on hosting the storage of characters and especially monsters, a low limit will rapidly become a deal breaker that seriously impacts the utility of their online tools.

I will also poke people at WotC.

(PS, thanks for being polite. Makes it much easier for me.)
Thanks for acting as an intermediary between the community and WotC. Your unfailing politeness is much appreciated. :)

I followed sigfile suggestion and sent feedback through the online form. It's unlikely that a single person can influence them at all, but perhaps if enough people point out this issue (in a courteous way) some result can be obtained, especially since it shouldn't be too hard for them to increase this limit.

I'd definitely be interested in this, too. As a DM of many online games, I kept records of many characters in the old builder (seeing as it told you if anything was houseruled, it was a great way to check over characters easily!). I'd often have ~80 active characters in there. It's one of the biggest drawbacks of the new system to have it capped, as I have to select just which characters get in, or have to continually upload / download them, which is not a quick process.
