D&D 4E Remember when 4e fans laughed at Pathfinder for having rules for stairs?

I'm probably going to regret this, but enjoy! B-)

pathfinder has rules for stairs?

but really nothing wrong with what is there. my only issue would be they should be able fo create a general rule to do that stuff.

So, uh, what ...?

One guy in the ENWorld thread, who's got 5 posts to his name since he joined three years ago, three of which were in that thread, called it stupid, and everyone else made funny guesses as to what they were and joked around?

I skipped the RPGnet thread; I find little of use there (and the whole thing was 19 pages long, which, srsly, I ain't reading).

So, again, what's your point?

OMG I don't believe I have to explain this... :erm:

Pathfinder got mocked because there were supposedly going to be "rules for stairs" by some in the 4e crowd. Now 4e has rules for rugs, tables and lamps.

It's not exactly rocket science.

Haha. That other thread is kind of funny. Parts of it rather. Looks like they haven't gotten around to making the Stairnomicon yet though. Darn.

You know, I like some of the ideas of these powers. It's sort of the stuff I wish people could think about more during combat [at least in my game; I'm guilty of it too - I should start doing that more as a DM and see if the players follow my lead], using the surrounding stuff. If the surrounding stuff actually had decent effects or damage, I'm sure people would.

On a side note, I'm surprised you remember something like that from nearly two years ago! I'm impressed.

Except Pathfinder wasn't mocked. At least, it didn't get mocked here.

Why don't you go post this on RPG.net instead? It might be on-topic there, or something.

It's like, "Hey, you guys remember this thing that totally didn't happen? Let's have an edition war."

I think the idea of the powers is pretty solid. paizo I'n their Tuesday blog had a terrain discussion of similar things. the thing is as I said I'n my firs post a general rule should be able to cover most of it. a number of those powers the cmb mechanic used creatively should cover them. but I think the idea is solid and should be encouraged.
