Class Compendium Feats and Weaponmaster is out!

I was hoping for multiclass rules... seems as if they appear sometimes later... at least I hope so...

While they don't have the multiclass stuff there, it does allow for some better interaction with multiclassing and hybrid with the older classes. It is now possible, for example, to get "normal" encounter powers for knights, slayers or thieves in order to then m/c power swap them with another class. A hybrid wizard/cleric would be able to pick up a class feature via hybrid talent and be able to take extra feats to get the mage/warpriest class features.

Not perfect (feat intensive, and you still can't get dailies for martial classes, so paragon multiclassing as a knight/slayer/etc still ends up with one useless feat) but it does make more things possible.

It is too feat intensive in general... i really can´t see most characters take those feats...

the mage... 3 feats and you only gain 3/5 of the features and still have a less useful spellbook and no Magic missile...

I would be more harsh on those feats as yet more useless cruft in the system, but I'm curious what update to base class features the "Arcanist" might get. I wouldn't be surprised given that wizards have everything, to see this get some improvement in their own class compendium article later.

Of course I notice the distinct lack of tome expertise and flail expertise.

Would it really be so hard to put those in Wizards?

Hey, i am also waiting for the updated arcanist. But judging from the other two updated classes, changes will be minor.
However, the wizard and the mage are so closely related, maybe the arcanist inherits the better spellbook and the MM cantrip. *Crossing fingers!*

On the other hand, i expected the fighter to get the better weapon talent...

The old cleric is called a templar. Heh. So the templar class isn't available in Dark Sun, but the templar theme is.

I like the new Come and Get It. IMO it's better than the old version, though you'll need a cloak of resistance more than ever.

Oh look, they ask you to consider the war pick as a weapon. Does that mean... ?
Of course I notice the distinct lack of tome expertise and flail expertise.
And of course there's no pick expertise. Why am I not surprised? :erm:

I wonder if the missing expertise feats are in next months feat artcle.

I'm seriously thinking about combing these feat chains into single feats, or allowing the firs step for free. I'm thinking about doing something similar for multiclassing anyway.

AFAIK, Magic Missle is it's own class feature and not a cantrip.
But I hope the arcanist just uses the mage rules for cantrips (less, but selectable).

yes, MM is its own feature, but I can totally see a feat at least that allows the switch of a cantrip for MM, or lacking this feat in today´s article, a line in MM that reads: "a wizard may chose MM as a cantrip"

Is it just me, or is the Holy Symbol Expertise feature really freakin' powerful? Certainly seems more powerful than a number of the other Expertise feats unless I am just missing something here (which could certainly be the case).
