[M&M2e] Red Sands Chronicles

The clumsy missile careened harmlessly off Seif's torso, the dull thud indicating concealed armor.

Seif did not even look around. Without pause the desert man charged the gathering debris-firing squad at plaza's center, teeth bared under the veil, body leaning forward. He rushed through their line like a whirlwind of steel, swords dancing, thin gouts of blood and steam arching out in all directions.

[sblock=Seif's Actions]Move to Plaza's center. Dervish Strike vs Ghosts 5, 6, 8 (and 7 if within range). 16 Ref save.

Now that I'm here, what does the crucifix man look like by the way?[/sblock]
"It seems I am your opponent then," whispered the Ottoman in his victim's ear.

"Fine. You don't all want to run away from subtle. I'm done with subtle. Let's try some flash."

There's a hissing noise in the air around one of the Wasteland Ghosts who has come toward the crucifix. The hiss rises to a whine, then a whistle, like something building to a boil as flames erupt in the air around the ghost.

OOC: Ignite vs. WG 5 (DC 20)

Seif unleashes a dervish strike on the three wasteland ghosts surrounding the crucifix....
WG 5 Ref: 15 vs 16 --> Full Damage
WG 5 tough: 22 vs 21 --> No Effect
WG 6 Ref: 20 vs 16 --> Half Damage
WG 6 tough:19 vs 18 --> No effect
WG 8 Ref: 12 vs 16 --> Full Damage
WG 8 tough: 20 vs 21 --> Bruised

.. and only manages to scratch Wasteland Ghosts 5 and 6 while slicing Wasteland Ghost 8's putrid flesh.

"It seems I am your opponent then," whispered the Ottoman in his victim's ear as he dashed and sliced at the mutant...
OOC: Since the roll was wrong, (if it wasn't a charge attack) I'll be nice and reroll it rather then using that roll of a 2. :D Unfortunately, even with making the attack a charge the new roll wasn't meant to be..
Sahid: 13 vs 16 --> Miss

... only to miss his target.

"Fine. You don't all want to run away from subtle. I'm done with subtle. Let's try some flash." Brian focuses on Wasteland Ghost 5, causing it to spontaneously combust.
WG 5 tough: 10 vs 20 --> Staggered, Stunned
The mutant then begins to scream in pain as it rolls on the ground to put itself out.

[sblock=The Crucified Man]
The crucified man is a short (about 5'6) slender man who appears to be in his mid to late 50s. He has long greying black hair that is tied into a braid, an olive complexion, is clean shaven and is wearing plain clothing. It appears as if the man was beaten severely prior to being placed on the cross.
OOC: The "cross" that the man was tied to appears to have been a support beam that was cut from some wooden structure (since it looks too sturdy to have been put together in a short period of time, and uses bolts to form the cross). Ethnicity wise, the man appears to native American/latino/hispanic.

He held back a shout of frustration and danced around the crucifix -- forcing them to pursue if they wanted him, to turn their backs on Klatta and the Cloudy One.

Now that he looked, the man crucified on this side was... <snip>

[sblock=The Crucified Man]I take it he's unconscious/barely conscious?[/sblock]
Ghost 5 spontaneously combusts. The mutant then begins to scream in pain as it rolls on the ground to put itself out.
The dark-robed swordsman scanned left, right <Notice: 1d20+10=21> and locked: there, by that alley's mouth. He met Shaughnessy's wide green eyes and nodded, once, a barely perceptible movement of the head.

Cheeks burning red with embarrassment from her poor showing so far, Deezy flips the active weapon over to the laser assembly on the Beast's other arm and takes aim at one of the mutants.

"It's not like I've been in a lot of fights," she mutters to herself as she sights the creature through the IR filter on the scope. "And it doesn't have any targeting gear still running. ...isn't EASY working this you know..."

The firing aperture lights up, and a ghostly beam momentarily flickers in the dust between the Beast and the creatures!

(Note: Deez isn't on comms for her griping. :))

Seif saw the gathering horde, beckoned them forth with a wave of his sword... and then he killed them.

Water suddenly blasted over the Beast like a tidal wave, <hopefully> washing away the mutant from its dark hull.

"My apologies," said the Ottoman, hands shifting down from their mystic pose. "It is a slippery one."

[sblock=Sahid's action]Water Shock vs Ghost 9, 10 and the Beast (at level 4 so it's under the Beast's Impervious). 40 feet cone area. Ref DC 14.[/sblock]

Brian swore under his breath as Seif locked eyes with him. It was bound to happen sooner or later, especially with all his reckless volunteering to scout nonsense. Nothing to do about it for now, though, but finish what they started. The ghost who escaped Seif's blade unharmed finds itself in the middle of a burst of flame. Brian ducks back for cover again as the bright flash draws attention away from him.

OOC: Ignite vs. Wasteland Ghost 3, then Hide again
