D&D 3E/3.5 List of all 3.5 area spells?

I'd like to make some custom spell templates in Photoshop that would resemble the spell effect. For example, make a template that looks like a Fireball blast or Evard's Black Tentacles. Is there a list of all of the 3.5 spells that are area spells?

If you're database savvy, you can the SRD in various formats at Andargor's. If you or someone you love (or someone who loves you, or who just likes your money) has the relevant skills, you might be able to pull out the spell records that have non-null AoE, or whatever the appropriate trick is for those databases.

I'd try it myself, but my meager db-fu expired years ago when a bunch of monkeys in fezzes made off with my geek card right after I quit my tech job.
Damn monkeys.

The actual area templates can be found in the back of the DMG.

Colored templates are nice, but I use wire to form template outlines. That way I can just lay them down on the battlemat, around the figs. Some area spells have a duration, after all, and it's nice to be able to just drop them on the field and keep going.

Somebody give Greenfield some XP for the wire idea!!!

Try Search Spells - it's a pretty astonishingly exhaustive (and amazingly searchable) index of, AFAIK, every last 3.5 spell, ever.

As much as i like the database... it annoys me how there is no full description of the spells... in the end you always have to go the book for a full description...

In my games...wars have erupted because of this!!! ...some guy uses a spell from crystalkeep or some other source on the net, but because of the incomplete text he doesn't use the spell right... then you have to double check... find the actual source... when you could have checked the original source from the beginning... ahh... a mess.

Still very helpful so as to find the book and the page... i admit that...
