D&D 4E Looking for a good 4e starter adventure

My group is going to be trying 4e for the first time in a few days and it will be my first time GMing the game. Nobody else in the group has any real experience with the game so I am looking for a good adventure that starts at level 1. Fitting into the forgotten realms setting would be a major plus (having to change location names and such isn't a problem, but obviously say a dark sun adventure would be a bit of a stretch)

I'm just wanting one that is pretty solid, a good deal of fun, some dungeon crawling wouldn't be unwelcome at all.

Keep on the Shadowfell is on Wizards website for free (IIRC), so that is worth looking into. Otherwise I would recommend HS1 the Slaying Stone and Reavers of Harkenfold (DM's Kit - sadly you have to buy the DM's kit for it).

You can run the Living Forgotten Realms adventures. They're free to download, they're set in the Forgotten Realms, and there are a whole bunch of them. I'm going to be running a group of first-time players through a one-shot game soon, and I'm going to use LURU 2-3 Forgotten Crypts, Hidden Dangers.

The tricky part is going to be if you want to make these into an ongoing campaign, but you can search for adventures that go together. You can find the adventures here.

I wish the LFR adventures weren't zipped, I'm finding it big pain having to individually extract them, create folder for the files et al.

I'd basically say the best WoTC ones are Slaying Stone and (I hear) Reavers of Harkenwold in the DM's Kit. Personally though I very much like the intro Loudwater stuff in the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide (the goblin adventure & the slavers adventure), plus Menace of the Icy Spire from Dungeon mag is a follow-on adventure for level 2 PCs, then you can use Sceptre Tower of Spellguard.

Edit: There are some good Goodman Games Level 1 DCC 4e adventures.

Sellswords of Punjar can be set in Waterdeep, or even Luskan.
Isle of the Sea Drake takes place on a tropical island, maybe near Chult, but can begin with PCs hired at any trading port.
Forges of the Mountain King is a pretty good ruined dwarf hold adventure. The sequel Wyvern Mountain seems ok too, but I hated the second sequel Citadel of the Corruptor.

I actually liked the one at the end of the DMG, the little kobold lair and the town of Fallcrest in detail.

I ran that as my first adventure for my players and they seemed to enjoy it as it introduces lots of gameplay elements in a timely fashion.

The kobold one in the DMG is good enough to introduce 4e to people, although some say that it is not tough enough to compare with newer MM3 monsters. Maybe some homebrew changes to the module would work for flavor. vit is short and can be played in one night.

wizards I think is giving away Keep on the Shadowfell as a download free, sorry no link.

Check my blog (linked in my sig). Head to the Free Stuff page. There you'll find a starter adventure based off a level 1 delve, but updated and expanded with Essentials content.

Let me know what you think.
