If you elaborate on the concept a bit more, someone might be able to recommend some flavor complementing feats/spells/PrCs.
Hmm... let's see if I can give a quick rundown without having to c/p the backstory.
Gray Elf, physically weak (though exceptionally intelligent and nimble). Self-taught wizard, he decided to use his talents to make up for his physical limitations, by summoning creatures to do the heavy lifting for him. Since discovering his ability to summon creatures, he's delved pretty deeply into the art, studying the arcane, studying nature, and even studying religion to get a wider view of summoning, how it's accomplished, and what sort of creatures can be called.
Conceptually, I would like him to be a versatile summoner with a few non-summoning spells to support his "bread and butter" spells.
Of course, Wizards start with Summon Monster. I'm going to be taking Arcane Disciple at level 6 to pick up the Summoner Domain, granting access to Planar Ally, and eventually Gate (this is also how I'm going to get access to the Thaumaturgist prestige class without taking cleric levels).
