They killed magic for me, I'm not a 4e hater but it's not d&d as I know it. The kicker is how they destroyed Heroscape. I'd like to say that their wallets will make them realize they're on the wrong path but I guess there are just too many WotC fanboys out there keeping them rich.

I don't really care for Superman comics. So I buy Batman instead. I don't spend a lot of time griping about Superman.

But, as a fan of Batman, if they relaunched his story line in a substantially different way that you didn't like, wouldn't you gripe about it? Not liking Superman but buying Batman, I think, is more like not enjoying D&D, but buying Warhammer instead. Going from one edition of D&D is more like going from Spiderman to Ultimate Spiderman, or Avengers to the Ultimates, or going through one of the Legion of Superheroes reboots. The basics are intended to be much the same, but the changes may not work for you, may even annoy you.

Being objective doesn't mean not having personal opinions. It means not letting them influence your judging. But no I'm not a robot or a politician if I find a game lacking I will be honest in my judgments. Magic the gathering was a game I started when from the beginning. I have no problem with the game just how it is being run. 4e like I said I'm not a hater I just don't think it's the same game I played growing up. This is a thread about a company not a game in particular. If you want a politician or an emotionless robot vote for someone else.

If you honestly think that anything done to a game is anything like violent sexual assault on a person, then your judgement is suspect in the extreme.

Let us assume, instead, that you mistake honesty for hyperbole.

Please don't ever use that analogy on these boards in the future. It is offensive to the folks around here who have, or who have loved ones who have, survived rape.

I know what you mean. I've been posting and reading here a few years, and didn't have any for most of that time. But the past couple of weeks, I've acquired a whole archipelago of tropical islands covered in facepalms.

Well Bill this point will manifest in a couple months with DC's relaunch. Alot of Comic stores are holding their breath on this one, it has the potential to be REALLY GOOD or REALLY BAD.

We might see this 4e type split if fans of Batman don't like the new direction. Or the fact that DC heroes no longer wear underwear over their pants. Boo. It won't be DC without underoos. Glad I am a Marvel fan!
