I'm sick of...

I'm sick of people who pick up the die after they rolled it... AS IF... they can't read what came up...

You would be sick of everyone in my group. We all do this because we are getting old and we can't see the blasted things unless they are an inch from our eyes.

That goes for me, too...PLUS I buy a lot of pretty, pretty dice that are not quite easy to read.

I don't know how many Q-Workshop dice I own, and not all of theirs are exactly easy on the eyes.

Chessex is another company that sometimes offers up nice dice with hard to read numbers. Unlike the Q-Workshop dice, its not because of ornate etching, but rather because they sometimes use colors for the numbers/pips that are too close to the colors of the plastics in the dice themselves.

We had a player who had these huge dice. They made a thundering noise when rolled. The only problem was that they had the power to knock over the DMs screen and drink glasses.

Ewoks are rather terrifying if you think about it...

Think about the feast they fed to the rebels, some of those pieces of meat were Storm Troopers. I'm pretty sure the Rebel Alliance did not notices all the human skulls or that the Ewoks used the storm trooper helmets as trophies...

In a passing reference in the new Star Wars novel Choices of One

[SBLOCK=Spoiler for page 14] we find out that Palpatine expected the Ewoks to cause as many problems for the Rebels as they might for his stormtroopers. It makes sense--it was only because of Threepio that the Rebels didn't wind up like the Imperials. And who really expects the Rebels to bring a shiny gold protocol droid on a commando mission? [/SBLOCK]

On topic, what am I sick of? The edition warring to some extent, but more the one-true-wayism in various sectors and the tendency for D&D to return to its roots as the Dungeon-Delving Game of the Triumph of Brute Force & Cynicism. :) (Apologies to Craig Ferguson and Doctor Who. The division between Old School and New School is what makes up the third leg of the game--Low Cunning for the former, Arithmetic for the latter. :) :) :) )

I am sick of the assumption that all PC drow are like Drizzit. Drows are a player race in my one campaign world and I have never seen one played with the angst that Drizzit is supposed to have.

Of course I have never read the books nor have most of my players.

Likewise Kender never had an issue with any player playing a Kender in a way to drive other players crazy.

My eyes are still fine, but I stopped buying hard to read dice years ago. I can find pretty and readable at the same time, so I do.

I know it doesn't work that way in the Real World, but a little transparency goes a long way towards building trust and loyalty with a fan base. We want to love you, WotC, just give us a frickin' chance!

I'm sick of people who understand how the Real World works, but still can't help making passive-aggressive demands of the fantasy world they wish they existed in. ;)
