I'm happy with each answer. I was hoping they would answer questions about DDI tools but oh well. Maybe next week.

I'm really hoping that they would take the resources alloted to Fortune Cards and board games along with those from Gamma World and put them back into producing more adventures and settings for 4th Edition DnD. So the no to Gamma World content was a pleasant surprise.

I enjoyed the Penny Arcade stuff. I was disappointed in the Dark Sun stuff they did. Was WAY too short.

I liked the map. I find it disconcerting that in order to get something like this these days it has to be part of something else. That's why we are getting the NWN and Book of Vile Darkness settings after all.

I am irrationally annoyed every time they take a classic dungeon location and shoehorn it into this setting.

Just remember the map was for the boardgame and the "dungeons" are micro quests that power up your side (much like tech advances in Axis & Allies). While they removed the borders from the map the names remained.

Besides, they are doing what a great many of us have done, take adventures out of their "setting" context and repurposed them to our own worlds.

Let me tell you, when I ran T1 Village of Hommett back in the day, The World of Greyhawk Folio had not been published yet. I have never felt compelled to keep any adventure "true" to its original placement. I will steal plots, encounters, NPCs and whole adventures and plunk them down where ever my players might be.

My two coppers,

Whazza matter? No nostalgia?

I do not mind them putting things on the map. It is supposed to be a D&D boardgame change the names a bit and it is not. Really that is all that makes this a D&D boardgame.

But that is fine with me, and a very nice map. WOTC please release all campaign maps in theis kind of high-detail way. I ran the Red Hand of Doom nad the lack of a decent map was very annoying.

I know that they are working on answers for a Ro3 column about DDI tools.

So we'll see it in about a year, with only half the questions answered? ;)

(Sorry, but although the CB is getting into good shape, the monster builder still seems like a way off...)

More like too much nostalgia. Those places belong in <wherever I played them first>. I did say it was irrational. :p
