Pathfinder 1E Returning to Pathfinder

After 3 years of playing 4E D&D, I am going back to Pathfinder. I was so disgusted of the "generalization" of 4E where every class feels the same & the game just doesn't feel realistic or like it is evolving.

Anyway I have a few questions about Pathfinder I wonder if someone could please assist me with.

1) I LOVE the pathfinder Witch - is there a chart anywhere that lists a conversion guide where a witch would gain any of the later 3.5 spells (such as the Complete Mage spells) to add to the Witch spell list? Or should I just stick with the Pathfinder spells as the 3.5 spells are not as "balanced" as the Pathfinder spells?

2) Words Of Power - I read about these today and I really like the concept. Is there a Word that adds the "swift" or immediate feature to a Word?

3) In 3.5 Unearthed Arcana, they had an optional rule to use a Spell Point system instead of the default spell slot system. Does this option work okay with Pathfinder?

4) Also in 3.5 Unearthed Arcana, there is an option where you can change any "prepare caster class" into a spontaneous spellcaster - has anyone tried this option with the Pathfinder Witch?

5) In Forgotten Realms, there are the Rashemen Witches - is there any equivlent in the Glorian Pathfinder default world? I have been glancing through many of the Pathfinder books but it is kind of overhwleming because there are so many books (which is a good thing :D )

6) I know a 3rd party created a Pathfinder compatible version of the 3.5 Expanded Psionics book, but is Pathfinder still planning on publishing any Psionics rules?

Reading Pathfinder again reminded me how much 4E is lacking in creativity & options.

There isn't any such chart. You could go to the Pathfinder Conversion threads at Paizo & ask for input. For the most part, there would need to be some tweaking of some spells. That would be a case by case thing. Comparing them to similar spells already in PF.

2) Words Of Power - I read about these today and I really like the concept. Is there a Word that adds the "swift" or immediate feature to a Word?
This I can't help with, mainly because I haven't used the system.

3) In 3.5 Unearthed Arcana, they had an optional rule to use a Spell Point system instead of the default spell slot system. Does this option work okay with Pathfinder?
A decent thread discussing Spellpoints at Paizo: USING THE SPELL POINT SYSTEM IN PATHFINDER

4) Also in 3.5 Unearthed Arcana, there is an option where you can change any "prepare caster class" into a spontaneous spellcaster - has anyone tried this option with the Pathfinder Witch?
Again, you may find this at the Paizo boards, or start a thread here. I personally think it would take too much away from the PF Witch. Preparing from the familiar is an integral part of the class' design.

5) In Forgotten Realms, there are the Rashemen Witches - is there any equivlent in the Glorian Pathfinder default world? I have been glancing through many of the Pathfinder books but it is kind of overhwleming because there are so many books (which is a good thing :D )
Yeah, there have been quite a few books in the last few years. I don't think there is an equivalent in Golarion. There are many that use Pathfinder to play in FRs. Most just ignore the Spellplague.

6) I know a 3rd party created a Pathfinder compatible version of the 3.5 Expanded Psionics book, but is Pathfinder still planning on publishing any Psionics rules?
The Dreamscarred Press Psionics Unleashed is a really well done book, and gets good support. Paizo says that IF the do psionics, it is still years away.

Reading Pathfinder again reminded me how much 4E is lacking in creativity & options.
Amen!!! lol

Why does Paizo have such an aversion to the Psionics rules? You would have thought they would be Pro-Psionics. :erm:
Some of the people in charge don't care for them and the fan base is split enough on what they think of psionics that they are worried about losing money on it.
If they do it then it won't be 3.5 psionics with PP, and it wont be called psionics either.
The word itself causes nerdrage, and false information to come forth out of nowhere.

LOL I forgot how so many 3.5 fans really hated Psionics.....I love Psionics & it just wouldn't be D&D to me without them

Words opf POwer question....so if you use a 0 Type & 0 Effect it would be 0 level, correct? If I use 0 Type but 1 Effect, it would be a 1st level spell slot, correct?

No chart to my knowledge, but I think with the new books out, the witch (and the other classes) got enough different spells without 3.5 supplements.

Sorry, I have not tried this option yet.

Generally yes. But you should leave cantrips as they are now.

4) Also in 3.5 Unearthed Arcana, there is an option where you can change any "prepare caster class" into a spontaneous spellcaster - has anyone tried this option with the Pathfinder Witch?
Generally, it works. But Pathfinder tried to eliminate/reduce levels you gained no 'goodie'. With gaining a new spell -level at even levels instead of uneven, both the new goodies and the new spell levels are the even levels.

5) In Forgotten Realms, there are the Rashemen Witches - is there any equivlent in the Glorian Pathfinder default world? I have been glancing through many of the Pathfinder books but it is kind of overhwleming because there are so many books (which is a good thing :D )
Sorry, not familiar enough with the Golarion setting. But the witch came after the Core World Book, so I would imagine less support for it than for the wizards, for example.

6) I know a 3rd party created a Pathfinder compatible version of the 3.5 Expanded Psionics book, but is Pathfinder still planning on publishing any Psionics rules?
Above posts say all about it :)

No need to trash another system because you like Pathfinder more. I prefer 4e much over Pathfinder and cannot agree with your perceptions, but I can be helpful and civil about it.

Glad you found the right system for you. Happy gaming :)

Walking Dad: I don't think he is necessarily trashing it. I don't speak badly of 4e directly, but his reasoning is pretty spot on with my opinion as to why I am not fond of 4e. But, let's not start a discussion on the virtues of either system, :P.

Askanipsion: The general attitude, and I stress GENERAL, of the Paizo staff is really not against psionics as much as how it was presented in 3e. They just aren't fond of having a different subsytem of magic. The consensus is that if the do psionics, it will be more along the lines of a Vancian system. That said, there is a big enough divide in the fan base that does like psionics, that they are hesitant to go forward on introducing such a system. I would stick with Dreamscarred press' Psionics Unleashed, especially since you are looking at Spell Points. I would keep Spell Points in line with Power Points.

I have been playing D&D over 25 years so I have played every edition. When 4E came out, I gave it a try for 3 years. There are some elements I like about it such as the Eladrin and no racial adjustments. I also like themes. I also like the 4E Bard more than any other edition Bard. I also like that you never run fully out of spells.

But as a whole game, there are elements that are missing from 4E that I like from 3.5 such as Somatic/verbal components, 3.5 familiars, 3.5 Psionics & alternate magic systems.

So no I wasn't trashing 4E :) Just a matter of preference.

As for Pathfinder Psionics, if Paizo would use the Vancian system then I am glad they decided not to do it - I like Psionics having a different system.

I love that they made cantrips unlimited use too.

Thank you everyone for your assistance! :)
