As Quagmire listens to the Duke's story, his eyes grow progressively wider and wider in disbelief. "Graaah! What is it with ye daft folks on this island, and yer stupid, crazy, backwards twisty plots? Mark my words, one o' these days, a great buggerin' army is gonna land here, led by an idiot with a great big sword and no plan at all, and they are gonna crush the lot of ye like bugs, burn the whole place down, and good riddance!"

That would be very amusing as I would love to save on the food bills! Please do send an army next time you run into one. Harkon Lukas says with a smile.

I wonder, Dorn says, trying to appear nonchalant, can you tell me anything about this? he says, lifting his cloak and exposing one of the wounds caused by Sir Exsixten. I have an awfully bad feeling about it...

Oh it looks bad. Harkon Lukas says frowning. I hate to say it my boy, but you caught lycanthropy! Don't worry, a lot of us here have it so you'll be right at home! You'll get used to the fleas eventually! he says laughing and slapping Dorn on the back.

Lukas whispers something to Dorn, frowns then laughs and slaps him on the back.

Yet." Andras then turns to the duke, "So... you want us to just... go west? Just start walking and eventually we'll get to this 'Daglan' place? Is that what we saw when you picked up the crown? And speaking of, since you can't seem to use it, I guess we'll just take it back. I mean, it's not doing you any good, right?"

To answer your questions, no, yes, yes and I don't care! Lukas says with a grin. That is to say, do whatever you want! Go west, east, north, back to your village, it makes no difference to me. You can even stay here if you want as long as you play by my rules. A lot of you look like you will fit right in!

Yes Daglin has most probably recently appeared just west of here. It just barged in right between Barovia and Sithicus, very rude of it! But that is the nature of this land. If I would hazard a guess, and as somebody of immense intellect my guesses are usually correct, that should be where you should go to stop the new domain lord who wants that crown. If you are really lucky you will get there before he or she or it figures out how to invade your village!

As for the bauble I don't care what you do with it. Grind it into powder or throw it in a volcano! It does not like me, and I don't like it! he says smiling.

Jax nods in agreement with Andras. He turns to the crown and exclaims "dibs!" before attempting to snatch it up.

GM: What is Jax doing with it?

GM: Also what course of action does the party want to take?

OOC: Sir Exsixten wants to slay the dragon. But then, he always wants to slay the dragon.

OOC: Just picking it up for now, seeing if it burns Jax and if the Duke would object (violently).

What preparations are your own armies making, to safeguard those in harms way? I wouldn't want to get... confused... about who we should be defending innocent people from," Quagmire sneers.

"I'm afraid there's a good chance we'll have more than our share of confusion over friend and foe in the near future," Dorn says. He sheepishly raises his cloak above the left ankle, exposing a strange festering wound. "If I start chasing rabbits around, you know what to do..." he says darkly.

Jax stashes the crown into his handy haversack again. Fully intent on sharing the gold it will sell for. Of course.

Unsubtly, Jax announces to the Duke, "I don't like you!" He points angrily at the man. "What father just watches his daughter die? I'm not doing anything for you."

When standing before Harkon Lukas, who claims to be the domain lord of Kartakass[FONT=&quot][/FONT], you remember that Rudolph van Richten (the guy who gave you the quest) said that Domains Lords are beings or great evil, but also of great power.

Worse comes to worse I'll just close the borders with my powers. Lukas says. I have no need for a real army when a good portion of the population has fangs and claws. And stop calling me a Duke lad, that is something my daughter dreamed up.

Jax snatches up the crown, thankfully he does not feel any burning sensation like Lukas did.

This from the creature who brutally murdered her? Lukas says with a raised eyebrow. If you must know I was going to ask you to knock her out instead, but she went down in exactly six seconds. Such a disappointment she was, I thought she was going to put up a better fight!

GM: So far it sounds like: Sir ExSixTen wants to kill a dragon. Quagmire may want to try to kill the Domain Lord Harkon Lukas who you are talking too. Please let me know what your characters what to do with the crown, where they want to head to and if they want to attack Harkon Lukas.

He's not probably evil, he's an irredeemably evil being of immense power, to quote the first post in this thread.

Andras clears his throat, "Um, guys, I'm not exactly thrilled about doing this man's bidding either, but I think, in this one particular case, he's telling the truth. He didn't tell us about the goblin threat; the crown did. It seems clear that he can't use or control the thing. So the crown may be lying to us, but he's probably not." Andras looks directly at the Dark Lord, "You are malicious, manipulative, and generally bad news. But the goblin army poses far more of a threat. We shouldn't waste our energy here." He turns back to his friends. "We should go."

Quagmire scowls, but has to admit that Andras has a point. With a wordless growl, he collects his things, wiping the blood off of his sword on an expensive-looking tapestry before slamming it into its scabbard. On the way out of the room, he pauses to flip a table over. It is a stupid and petty gesture, and Quagmire can almost feel Lukas' mocking smile, but it still feels oddly satisfying.
