LotR Marathon

I noticed a lot of new things as I'd never seen the extended versions before. This was also the first time I'd seen the movies since they were in the theater.

Happy Birthday IronWolf.

I did the LotR marathon some years ago. It was fun, but I don't think I'd do it again - I felt I didn't really appreciate RotK when watched that way.

I also did the Star Wars marathon about five years ago (all six films, in numerical order). Just as Lando was about to escape the exploding Death Star, I was interrupted by the phone. Still, I wasn't too upset - it was my brother phoning with the news he'd just gotten engaged.

I'm going to try to break this to you gently: Lando didn't make it.

IMNSHO, the (Director's Cut) ending to RotK always seemed a little dragged out. When I did the full marathon, I found the ending to be extremely unnecessarily long. Other than than that, watching all the movies in one sitting is a great experience.

Like the 15 chapters of "we're traveling home in the book wasn't?" :)
