General Discussion

This may wind up making my headache worse, but I'm casting out for opinions here on various ongoing effects and their interaction with dismissed eidolons. I've been trying my darndest to find some kind of discussion, but what I've come up with isn't very helpful; the occasional question, but other than a ruling that gear doesn't travel between planes, I can't seem to find anything remotely official.

So, the question is how does dismissing an eidolon with an ongoing condition effect the condition. In the specific scenario I'm GMing, poison is the condition, and I've agreed to a 'suspended animation' read, as it seems a reasonable compromise to me, but I figured I'd open it up to see if I'm the only one who thinks there's a lot of vague going on there.

I think I recall seeing something awhile back about magical durations still expiring, but if, for example, poison suspends / sticks, do potions? What about parasites?

It's possible I'm the only one who finds this stuff confusing, and I'm more than happy to just bow to those who have a better handle on the rules, but even if no one shares it, I'm hoping folks can see where my confusion lies and point me to / explain it to me so that it makes a little more sense?

I can understand the confusion. From what I've read, it seems to me that the general opinon is that the Eidolon just happens to be in another place. It gain any of the cool benefits of being dismissed to another plane, that a normally summoned creature would, such as healing or in this case, changes in conditions. So if an eidolon is poisoned, I believe it would be poisoned in the home plane as well. If the poison is such that it causes the eidolon to run out of hp on the home plane, I suspect (and this is my interpretation, i have nothing to stand on here,) that it would be like dying on the material plane: comes back with half HP, after 24 hours. This is my read of the rules, with some generous interpolation.

Can you give me a link? Galandra has her little own house too.

This is the old LPF social group (now called campaign manager) where DC has put his 'Home' thread. Just so you know, the forum functionality isn't quite up to par with the regular forums but I think it is good enough for this purpose. And it allows us to repurpose the old social group area.

I had it in my head (apparently wrongly) that since HP and stat damage stays the same when returning, that poisons would get "suspended". Looking again, I have to concur that the poison still affects Gragnor while he is away, same as active spell time still ticking and expiring.

Well, at least he can't permanently die. If he goes to zero CON, death resets him back to 1 CON at next summoning.

Don't worry. It is confusing to me and I'm the expert. ;)

I tweaked the Adventures page to process "At Home" too. Adding |Home_Thread=url to the hidden block in the basic stats will create a (home) link under the character's class listing. Adding a |Currently_Home=NO will disable the display of this link. That way, the link can be set once, and the Currently_Home can be toggled as needed.

I had to do it that way because the wiki doesn't know what category the page is sitting in while processing the category. Ugliest programming language I have ever seen.

I hope no one minds me posting this here. But I want to inquire, given the lack of threads leading me to think there is much going on right now, if there are any non PF games that are recruiting at the moment? 3.5 or even 2nd Ed D&D, Star Wars (though I haven't the new rules, assume there is a SRD?) or something. I want to add a third game to things, but lack GM creds or skills as a GM to be able to PC'ify my Necromantic Halfling. Is anyone running or participating in such a game? If replies shouldn't be posted here, PM me. :)
