Warlocks are too anime and overpowered

[sblock]Since Dandu is rehashing the original, though certainly worthy of repitition, thread he made on BG, I'll just post my reply to it again here, and hope it gets more appreciation than it did on BG.[/sblock]

I can't believe no one's mentioned possibly the most iconic Asian/anime/weaboo class of them all, the Cavalier!

First off, unlike most prestige classes, it gives proficiency with just about everything! Right at 1st level! You like, suddenly learn some shonen skills and now you've mastered any weapon within sight? So unrealistic! As if that's not enough, it gives you a freaking mascot!

The class itself is seriously focused around a fighting style of rushing around the battlefield every single turn like someone with ADHD hopped up on coffee while having a minor seizure, never staying around in one spot like a jittery wreck, all while spamming the exact same attack over and over again. You ever see anime where two grotesquely OP characters fight each other and the animators are lazy and just show flashes of light or color shooting about all over the place? That's basically what two cavaliers duelling each other would look like. I :):):):) you not, but one of the class features is also literally called "burst of speed," too!

And really, what's with the huge ride bonus? Ride check DCs are easy. Clearly it's just to help you reach an epic Ride check so you can justify mounting on one of these babies:

Just disgusting. How am I supposed to run a proper faux-medieval European game with these flashy wuxia speed freaks?

An apology to the management

I'm sorry for straying into the periphery of politics. My subject matter was the impact that gaming and politics have had on each other, but I certainly could have been more oblique.

Again, sorry. I'll try to keep it clean.

Just never let "morality" stand in the way of a good time, play what you want to play. If that is an evil spellcaster who has a pact with the devil, fine, this is a game, not real life...
