Not sure how I feel about the MCing rules... On the one hand, they're flexible and don't require feat investment. On the other hand, it feels a tad too 'quick and dirty', I guess? I may take the kernel of that idea and rework it myself... I'd already rolled all of the feat swap feats into one, and then made that a standard part of all base MC feats. I may just make it a base part of the character advancement rules - but that, just as with these rules, feels /too/ open somehow. :/

I liked the Draconian article a lot, Wayne England art notwithstanding (I've never liked his stuff...). The limited flight option I particularly like. I'm not so sure about the daily racial power, but it makes sense for the desired effect.

I was hoping the Mephit article had familiars. As I recall, there was no water mephit familiar, and I homebrewed a replacement. I was hoping for something official, but alas, no dice.

I miss the Eye on Eberron and Eye on Dark Sun articles.

The best part of the new multiclassing rules is how optional they are.

It's basically a huge Pandora's Box for silly optimization tricks.

Almost like a "dial" you can tune to whatever setting you like. What a concept... LOL

Yeah, the MCing options look pretty wild and not totally thought out, which is a good thing. Put the dial in the hands of the DM.

Wonder how DDI will handle it?

This was one I was looking forward to for the MC rules. I suspect that this is the result of what they'd worked on, what? a year ago? Two? and then abandoned. I further suspect that they abandoned it in part because of Next and in part because these rules are utterly broken :)

I both like and disliked them for the same reasons. I've already waived the feat requirement of MCing in my games, and basically let characters swap powers freely, but maintained the rule of singular multiclass only. Works well, minimal abuse so far. I may consider using rules like these, but I actually liked the restrictions on MCing once I got used to them, so, we'll see.

I was never a huge DL fan, and so I only skimmed the articles, but I did take notice of the handsome Tanis artwork. Failed to look up at the art credits, but it doesn't surprise me that it was you :)
