Sharing Ad Revenue

As an experiment, I'll soon be offering an innovative new feature - the ability to share EN World's ad revenue by creating content.

Being able to reward good content is important. I want you to create interesting theads, and so I want you to want to create interesting threads. And, while it's by no means guaranteed, a thread's traffic can be a good indicator of whether it is interesting to a large number of people.

So here's the thing. You will be able to split EN World's ad revenue in threads you create by using your own Google Ads codes and the like. You need your own Google Ads account - you're simply plugging it in to your EN World member account. The ad revenue in question is that from the ad (you don't see it - you're registered; guests see it) which makes up the "second post" in each thread. You get 50% of the ad revenue from that ad; I get the other 50%.

Now, it's an experiment. It may not work out. But if it's something you think you might use, get your Google Ad accounts in order so that you can simply add the advertising code to your account when the time comes.

Err. So 500K views beings half a cent? It takes years for an incredibly popular thread to get that high. I'm much less impressed!

Well, if you only have one thread, yes you are right. But with 26,000 posts, you must have a bit more than one thread started.

Still, it is not a lot

Doesn't matter; revenue is from time of the program starting. We don't get paid for past page views! Ah, if only that's how it works. :)

Interesting.

Do you think with this and the threads for gold that you run the risk of a tendency to start new threads where once someone might have looked for an already established thread?

I suppose that the answer to that is - "I am not worried enough at this stage to stop me from trying this, because if I was, I wouldn't."

Which is a good answer.

I exaggerate! Here's some info I found on Google Adsense pay rates:
Google does not disclose specific data about how much revenue is shared with website publishers, but it says it aims to pay as well or better than other advertising programs. Pay rates are also determined by how much advertisers are willing to pay, with AdSense using a bidding system to choose those that are willing to pay the most. Advertisers are often willing to pay more for ad space on websites that are more likely to attract viewers who are interested in buying their products, such as those sites with relevant niche content. Google will only say, very broadly, that most publishers earn between 5 cents and $5 per 1,000 page impressions.

Results
Income from Google AdSense varies dramatically among users. While many have never generated any income or made just a few dollars a month from the program, some users have made sizable incomes from it, which they can use to live on or to supplement their business.

Payment Thresholds
One thing to keep in mind is that AdSense only pays once cumulative revenue reaches $100 at the end of a month. The payment is then processed and sent at the end of the following month. If the AdSense account is cancelled, the threshold is lowered to $10 and paid within 90 days.
