Yeah, I wish WOTC would try to put a stop to people selling Lair Assaults, Encounters and things like this on Ebay. Maybe there is nothing they can do, but I think they could tell EBAY these are not for further resale.

I just did a review of it. It's about playtest rules and half adventure, in four parts. The adventure section is pretty good for what it is (a railroad.) The magic items and details are nice.

I hate to rub it in, but you actually ARE missing something if you have any interest in 5e/Next at all. But no at $90-$150. Screw that.

Can you link the review?

Thanks for rubbing it in :)

Doctrine of first sale...

Completely legal to sell something you own whether WotC likesit or not. That people are willing to pay double or triple the retail price for what is essentially the equivalent of a beta test is another story altogether...

Depends on whether you own it. The Dragonspear is probably owned, I agree, but are Lair Assault and Encounters? I think WOTC could make an argument against it, at least enough for Ebay to stop selling them.

I certainly hope they do no such thing. I'm a few thousand miles from the nearest FLGS running Encounters, so I'm grateful for the fact that I can still pick up copies of those adventures on Ebay.

I think that there is nothing they can do. Once somebody owns an object, they are free to resell it. Even if they could it would probably require more effort to police than it would be worth.
