I'm curious as to what people take to their Pathfinder sessions to help run the game. (Or have there already).

Note well: In the poll, there are a lot of hardcover books. This refers to you having the actual book present at the session, not the pdf on your laptop/tablet/gadget.

Cheers!

I have my whole pathfinder collection on my iPad. If I could get something like a microsoft surface to handle the mini combat, I'd be in heaven.

It's a far cry from the days of lugging my 35 lb. backpack full of 3E books, two duffel bags of plastic minis, a battlemat and dinner. Don't even get me started with 2E back when I was using metal minis...

Your poll seems to assume we run sessions away from home. Is that intentional? My games for the past 10 years have been almost all online, in chat rooms and such. So I'm always home and have access to my full collection.

I play at home so have all the books available. Also have been using a laptop more lately for music and some access to the d20pfsrd.

I marked other for the Crit and Fumble decks.

I also run all my games in my home, but all but one of my games is ftf. So we have access to a rather extensive library of books of which I still prefer to use the hard copies at the table. I will use pdfs on my laptop and use laptop/desktop to display maps on d20Pro. As for minis, I never cared for plastic minis and use a few cardboard ones, but mostly Reaper.

If you're running a game online, you aren't really the focus of this poll.

If you run the game at home, consider the poll to be which books do you actually get out for a session? I know that when I run a game at home I always have the Core Rulebook and Bestiary on the table along with my GM Screen. And minis and battle mat. But the APG will safely stay on the shelf for most sessions. (Players might have one there, but I won't need it).

Cheers!

I bring the corebook though I rarely reference it. I also bring my notebook, not a computer but a collection of paper. When I run games I rarely consult a book. I think it detracts from the game and wastes time to do so.

When I broke the seal and ran a pathfinder session last weekend, I consulted the pfsrd from my laptop and used the plot twist and condition cards. That's it.

I take a lot of books (Core, Bestiary 1 and 3, Advanced Players, Ultimate Equipment, Ultimate Combat, GM screen plus AP books and some setting books. Also plastic miniatures and the occasional special metal one and a battlemat or two). I've been using my tablet more and more though and have been slowly dropping the books I carry. I almost never actually refer to any books other than the Adventure Path book looking things up on the PFSRD as required. I also have most of the books on pdf as well on my old 64 GB playbook, The players are almost entirely all using ipads/smart phones for rules and such. I don't imagine I'll ever drop all of my physical books, but I'm pretty sure I'll be carrying fewer of them as time goes on.
