Pathfinder 1E NF's experience with Curse of the Crimson Throne; Answer key for life! (not)

How did you RP Laori Vaus and how did your PCs interact with her? Just curious.

Uhm I played her as a crazy elf lady...but honestly she wasn't as memorable for the PCs as some others. Mostly because they didn't want anything to do with her. They did, however, like her enough when she helped out. I can't remember if it was her or the other guy that was turned into the Curate or not. The PCs probably had more positive interactions with Cressida and Vencarlo. But Laori, I think, was at least tolerated on the journey into Scarwall.

Interesting.

I played Laori as polite, a little bubbly, and somewhat flirtatious with sexual innuendo hints here and there when I ran CoCT. She hinted to the male PCs that flirted back that she had no problems bedding them as long as she got to use her chains on them! ;) My players never truly trusted her, but they always kept her around as added support. My players did hate Laori's companion Sial with a passion and rejoiced when he got killed by the demi-lich in Scarwall.

I always find it interesting which NPCs my players like and dislike. Btw, I had my version of Laori drawn here - see the elf with the purple background.

I don't think any of them liked Sial, but I'm sure my cleric PC (Larin the Cleric of Cayden Caelin) hated the Kyton for appearing for a brief second as his dead lover.

It is interesting indeed. My PCs, for example in my Carrion Crown game, liked Montaligale Cowl but hated the Coot in Illmarsh. Probably because the old guy wouldn't give them free stuff.

My players treated the chain devil as a meatshield in Scarwall when she first appeared to the group and liked her more than Sial. Though I didn't run Sial like a jerk, my players immediately dislike him when I introduced him to the party and they all cheered when he died as they looted his still-warm corpse.

I haven't run or played CC, but I can understand players not liking NPCs that don't give them free stuff or help them with little effort on the player's part. You should have the Coot hand them free curse stuff for not liking him. ;)

Well we had a super meat shield in Grub the half orc fighter/wizard along with the Eidolon that the gnome had. (This was before they re-did all the stuff to Summoner). As far as I know, no one particular cheered when anyone died, but they certainly hated the Demi-lich.

Eh he's not that kind of Coot. He's more of crazy inventor versus Cowl, who was slightly deranged but helpful.

Yes, eidolons due make good meatshields too!

Ah, I see about the Coot. He probably just eyeballed your PCs wrong and now he is on their crap-list!
