Pathfinder 1E What happened to "Basic Pathfinder"?

I remember hearing rumors about Paizo developing a simpler, "basic" version of Pathfinder. Am I imagining things? If not, what happened to it?

Yep; they developed and released the Pathfinder Beginner boxed set. And very nice it is, too!

There are extra adventures for it posted at their site and I think there is a third party one or two somewhere, isn't there? Also they have other classes on their site.

Also I think Wayfinder 9 has BB monsters in it.

I have it in PDF and it looks like a full game, up to level 5.

It's meant to be an intro into the full game.

It's basic in the sense that some of the mechanics are simplified. For example, attacks of opportunity aren't covered.

Yes, it's an intro, but it's also a "full" game (even though it's limited to 5th level). With the rules in the box, you can create characters and new adventures (unlike the 4e Red Box).
