Pathfinder 1E What happened to "Basic Pathfinder"?

yeah...see I am not interested in upgrading to (IMHO) a broken set of rules. I am interested in innovation and smooth easy to play rules. I realize that people consider PF to be smooth and innovative, I do not.

Agree. If the BB is a gateway drug to full Pathfinder, I'll pass.

The idea is that if you like the Beginner Box rules as they are, you can continue to use those as the default rules and use everything else in support of those rules.

I don't have time to playtest each Pathfinder option to make sure it works well enough in the altered rules of the Basic Environment. That is why I would be interested in and willing to pay money for further Paizo products supporting the BB ruleset. Since Paizo has decided not to offer such products i'm not that happy about it and kinda angry since they are also trying to prevent 3pp providing such for PF...

excluded much of the Beginner Box from its PRD because they don't want other companies to do that either. They want people to move to the full game.

Not really a fan of gateway products to begin with if the idea is that they present some simple and then hope you don't mind jumping over to a complex product. Shadowrun does this too, they have a quickstart product that pretty simple, then hope you jump to their main book which is extremely dense (more so than 3e/PF)

The BB is much more substantial than the SR quickstart. That is good, but only useful for an adventure or two, really. The BB is useful to level 5. Maybe you could stretch out how useful the quickstart is but you could do the same with the BB and probably for much more.
