Ruins of Adventure

"Ruins of Adventure" was actually the old "Pool of Radiance" CRPG made into a module, and I am in the process of converting it for 4E now. I won't be running it until we finish the current (Epic) campaign, though, so it won't be run for a while.

By way of comparing notes, I'm finding that combining whole sections of each "level" map into one big encounter is working OK. Several orc and goblin patrols become groups of minions within likely earshot of one-another; the "battle mat" becomes several rooms and corridors that have to be navigated using skills and movement as well as actual combat. I'm planning on using a "take 10" approach to stealth and perception to adjudicate which monsters are on the battle mat (as well as which ones are "activated" in the encounter).

After reading up on that blog, I can say that I'm still going to have to do about 90% of the work to get the module converted. This is because the blog writers DM notes are sparse about what he did to convert it especially in the first few entries. Oh well, It'll take less time than starting from scratch anyway...

Anyway, it's 4E so converting is pretty easy. If you need monsters done, just post here and I am sure people will chip in.
