The episode was a bit slower than the previous two, but did have a bit of good Michonne development, and the twist about Eugene knowing what caused the zombie apocalypse. Interesting potential new villains in the house with Rick, but it seems everybody is going to be following the tracks to Sanctuary.

Meh. I'm not a fan of the split party storytelling.
The character development with Michonne, to me, came across as rather heavy-handed, rather than moving.
As for Eugene... given that the comic book is still rolling, and AMC isn't going to want to kill the goose that lays golden eggs, I don't expect a cure to be coming along any time soon, if ever.

Interesting how quick Glenn became the leader of his group.

I'm pretty sure the idea was the guy was put in a "sleeper hold" into unconsciousness, rather than killed.

I also got that impression; it seemed like he was stirring and Rick was waiting for him to wake up.
That said, it seems less smart for the aggressor to go to sleep leaving someone right there next to his bed who is probably going to revive and be very mad at him.
Think of it as evidence of the cockiness involved in a long-term abusive relationship, like in Battered Wife Syndrome. The aggressor was a bully, and probably had treated his victim likewise before. Yet he felt comfortable enough to bully someone whom he knows carries weapons all the time.
I think the scene was, in part, meant to demonstrate that Rick and his crew are not necessarily the norm in terms of maintaining ethical and generally beneficent social structures.
