Real Swordfighting as a Card Game

Looks like this can now be bought in PDF - physical cards coming soon - but for anyone interested in how real world Western Martial Arts work, there is now a rather fine card game (non-collectible, although several sets are promised covering specific aspects) to show how it works.

"Audatia" is a card game played between two players, the cards representing moves in Fiore dei Liberi's system of Longsword (what in D&D we call a "bastard sword") combat. Expansions to cover fighting in armour and a fighter/deck (each character has their own deck of cards to use) using the German "Lichtenauer" Longsword system are promised.

I backed this as an Indigogo project, and have been trying the game for a few weeks. There are a couple of rules tweaks still needed for rare situations (the rules are available free here), but the game is fun (and brutal!) to play.

Links to buy the PDFs are on this page, near the top.

P.S.: A description and introduction to the game are here.

Enjoy.

It looks really interesting. Are there any reviews? (I've started looking through the rules from your link.)

No reviews, yet, as far as I know (it's really barely "out"), but if you are in Middlesbrough, UK, then I am just on the coast, in Saltburn, and could probably arrange a meet up for a game, if you want to try it out. :)

PM me if you're interested.
