5 min long trailer for The Flash

I dunno. There's definitely some interest here but a lot of that kind of left me scratching my head. Inevitably, I'll wind up comparing it to the 1990/91 Flash, of which I am inordinately fond.
I am wondering if this is intended to be consistent with whatever they've done with Barry Allan in the current DC continuity (or is he dead again?)

Looks like unlike the 90s flash, they're actually going to give him some super-villains to deal with.
Considering Arrow turned out decent, I have reasonably good expectations.

They did. As I recall one of them was even played by Mark Hamill FWIW. I've seen a few eps of Arrow - nothing going on there to keep me watching alas. A bit too soap opera-y for my taste.
In any case, I'll give the new show a shot, much as I did Arrow.

The one thing that bugged me in that trailer was the childhood sequence. The man in the lightning that kills his mom? Too Batmann-y.

Looks pretty good, otherwise.

I only watched the first 2 or 3 disks of 90s version. Seemed like another one of those shows that wanted to be about a superhero, but didn't want any actual super threats. Got old somewhere around the mob boss threatening to expose his secret if he didn't obey orders.

Hark Hamill also played the Joker in Birds of Prey. Of course, that was only during the exposition scenes and opening trailer flashbacks. (waste of time and talent).

If you can get past the soap-opera-y parts, Arrow becomes worthwhile. Try the episodes with Huntress.
