Interstellar (trailer)

Horrible, just horrible.

A movie called "Interstellar" should be about exploration and space travel and not some family drama in an American dream like farm in the mid west. Just seeing the trailer makes me want to puke.
Unless what is shown in the trailer is the only screentime the kid gets I will pass. I have no interest in watching 1 hour of pseudo philosophical talk between father and daughter.

And the food is running out? Why? Whats the point? Do we really need a "mankind is going extinct" background in order to explore a wormhole?

Horrible, just horrible.... Just seeing the trailer makes me want to puke.

Drop the idiocy, please, Derren.

(You have far more than your share of post reports for deliberate hyperbole and inflammatory comments which frequently starts arguments; we'd like you to tone down your posting style from now on, please. The post reports are turning into too much work.)

What? I agree with him. Ok, it didn't make me want to puke, but it sure didn't make me want to see the movie either - for all the same reasons he gave.

Nolan puts together trailers very unlike the rest of movie trailers are put together.

Go back and re-watch the teaser trailers and then the main trailers for INCEPTION and THE PRESTIGE.

They both seem like theyre giving away alot but pretty much are only giving away the SETUP for the movies.

I WANT to see INTERSTELLAR because I know that that trailer? Isnt the whole story. It's just the setup.

Since the movie is going to be released in November the odds are we'll see another more detailed trailer between now and then.

Hyperbole aside, my reaction was much the same as Derren's on this one. It feels like it's going to be all about the oversentimental overwrought emotion, and not enough about the exploration.
