It's the twentieth day of his quest to find the lost Lamp of a Thousand Faces. He's crawled through the sewers of the palace. He searched numerous boneyards and endured a ritual cleaning after each. He's even had to visit the fabled Library of Taruq.

And now this. Goblins. Of all of the creatures to try and impede his way, it has to be these nigh-Untouchables. Don't they understand? The princess has only one tenday left, and the caliphate was quite clear on the consequences of failure. He must dispatch them and continue on with his quest. The librarians told him to search the Caverns of Darset next. The Caverns are leagues away, and he must make haste.

He will find the Lamp. No matter the cost.

——

You know, something like that. He's not bored, he's searching for something. Seeking something. His mind is on grander things than a fight with goblins.

Thaumaturge.

Dammit. Still can't XP you.

I agree it has a sword and sorcery feel (albeit with more clothes than Boris Vallejo's take on such things) it also has a peculiar resemblance to Pathfinder art...

Dammit. Still can't XP you.

That may be alright, because Thaumaturge doesn't want you to XP him. (Or so he says in his .signature.)

(His level title is now "Thaumaturgist," and he doesn't want that to change. If too many people give him further XP, his level title will change.)

D'oh, good point.

Shows how much I read sigs.

Stop being awesome, T. :D

Indeed. It seems pretty weird to me, having seem plenty of people approximately that colour with similar features (narrow eyes, very dark irises).

His eyes aren't narrow, nor is the conversation about his very dark irises. He has no irises because he has no whites in his eyes to tell if his irises are dark. All of his eyes are the same color as his skin.

:) Glad you like it.

This is all true.

Sadly, I can't. :p

I'm going to give up the effort, though. It's a bit like trying to hold back the tide.

We'll just all have to remember this magical summer where 5e came out and I was Thaumaturge the Thaumaturgist.

To make the thread about the art again, I continue to enjoy the art. Almost all of the art for 5e I've seen has told a story, which is just wonderful.

Thaumaturge.

I don't see where people are seeing facial hair on the subject; the resolution is poor, but the sheen on the cheeks and chin seems to preclude it. Based on the build, this looks like a woman to me; a badass black woman on the first page of the Player's Handbook! Besides being a fine piece of art to greet the readers, that's a pretty awesome move on WotC's part.

Just start complaining that you want someone else to change something in the rules when it's both too late for that and really easy to fix yourself. Then just keep going on and on about it in an annoying fashion. I can add you to my ignore list and make sure to never XP you again. :D

Agreed!
