D&D 5E (2014) I have something... THE TARRASQUE!

All this talk of necromancers and their hordes of undead being able to kill the tarrasque makes me wonder why don't they take over the world already? Oh wait, they keep trying to do that!

The art is nice, except for the eyes. Why does it have the eyes of a prey and not those of a predator ?

True, although I wonder why does the Tarrasque needs eyes at all if it has Blindsight

I'm not a bird so that's not a big help. I can't relate to avian creatures. Plus are they swallows or eagles or condors?

I hate to be a wet blanket on an otherwise positive thread (at least through the first six or seven pages that I read), but I'm a tad underwhelmed. The art is decent enough, although for a full page I would have liked to see a scene - a full page of just the monster might end up feeling a bit sparse in the actual book. The sketches are a nice idea but don't really add anything to the main picture. And, to be honest, I'm simply not that fond of the way they depicted the Tarrasque - too smooth and almost rubbery. I would have liked to see more sharp edges, something more kaiju-esque.

Secondly, without a third page it is a very "statty" and overall empty entry. I'd love to see a third page with "Tarrasquean Lore" - examples of tidbits about the creature, stories, and possible ways to use it in your campaign. Flesh it out a bit! Who knows, maybe that is there, but I'm doubtful.

That said, I like the look of the pages themselves - the large "T," the background wash, and the small "T" in the corner for reference.

Place its eyes before its head and not on its sides, and the monster looks a lot more nasty.

It is the prey. Every time it appears, minding its own business, those pesky adventurers keep trying to hunt it.

So wish is no longer needed to kill it unless a third page says otherwise. Also I believe the ad&d 2nd edition version was immune to psionics. I'd like to see a playtest of a high level party fighting the Tarrasque. The lack of counters against fliers, no regeneration and no psionic immunity might be a problem (although I have no idea how powerful psionics will be in d&d next)
