So far mine is the pegasus and nightmare. Specifically how it says nightmares are not natural they are made by ripping the wings off of a pegasi while using dark magic. Very vivid imagery.

Release the Kraken!!!!

But seriously, I am loving so much in this book, but the Kraken has to be my favorite. Kickass regional effects, awesome lair actions, great history and an awesome picture. Man this thing is.... Cannot get enough of it.

hard to nail down just a few.

Artwise, I love the gnoll (released awhile ago in a preview I know), the myconids, the manes demon and spined devil, merrow, black pudding illio, roper, and zombies.

Content wise I like the realm effects of dragons and some other creatures. I like how many monsters have plot hooks in the flavor text. Many times I caught myself thinking, "Man, I could totally build an adventure around this!"

Basically, there was a LOT of stuff there that sparked my imagination on how to incorporate the monster into an adventure in fun and creative ways. Love it.

I am just happy that it is out and my wife got a job last week so we have extra income and I was able to get the book at the FLGS instead of Amazon. I am doing a conversion of age of worms, and the lizardfolk king and half dragon template work perfectly in what I need for next Wednesday.

Aside from that, it would be a shorter list to say what I don't like about the MM. ... *Cricket chirping*

Bumping to see what others think. To add to the topic even more, I really enjoy the NPCs at the end of the book as well. I wish they had some rules to increase their level (I know it'll be in the DMG) but all in all I'm really happy with the spread.

I love the lore hooks, just the first entry had me curious about getting the Rod of Seven Parts adventure in PDF and running it with 5e. The whole book is just exciting!

I am only a little ways in but so far:

Best:
All the inspiration. So many ideas.

Worst:
The 14 year old boy who lives in my heart was a little sad to see the Marilith can now afford some chest armor.

I've made myself believe that Marilith clothing/armor is non-diegetic. Just like incidental music in a movie, it's not "really there" in the fictional world.
