Can you tell me something about your setting?
I started work on it in 2008 sometime. Since then it has gone through a LOT of revisions so that early material doesn't even match up with more recent stuff. A couple of years ago I started work on my own RPG system, which changed some things too. In general I try to write non-edition specific but when I do I clearly mark out which edition I'm using. In the old days that game was 3.5, now it is PF. My system isn't finished and right now it is only available directly from me so I haven't incorporated its elements into the setting as a whole. So, Pathfinder (rules compatible) it has remained.. with some 3.5 holdovers like gods and cosmology.
As far as the details, well I'm not sure what you want to know. I started by coming up with concepts for a fantasy style setting with kingdoms, dragons, elves, and dwarves, the whole bit. This was my original setting but at this point I think my 'setting' moves beyond a singular one. I've started work on other areas, going in every cardinal direction (N, S, E, & W) from my main area, then moving up (other planets) and down (underdark bits).
Most recently I'm running a pirate themed game - beta-testing my system with fresh eyes - that is going quite well. So while that one borrows from other material I've written, it is mostly its own setting with its own rules.
In fact, "its own rules" or at least its own flavour is the common thing for my settings. In each distinct setting I've altered the races, either by appearance or by availability. I've been working on variant magic, religions and gods, even a different cosmology in places.
Unfortunately though, I don't often come back to finalize or tidy up my earlier work. I'm always moving onto the next thing. Add onto this my recent work on my own RPG and this means that I don't have as many updates to even the areas I am/was working on.
So, yeah, Pathfinder factors in for the rules, but I've never run an AP (without serious reworking), so that is a non-factor for my setting. Very little of how classes are designed factor in for me when I'm writing to the point that I have clerics for 3.5, PF, and my own system that are all just clerics, and once I say that the work is over. "Cleric of Heironeous" is what might be applied somewhere on my setting - which rules am I using? I use the 3.5 cosmology means that I have to do
some work in changing or using 3.5 interpretations of certain planar creatures but given the closeness in the two versions there is little reworking I have to do.
I suspect this is all unhelpful, I'm not sure what you want to know.
