I almost have to run the last session in one of my games.
it will be a colossal white dragon.
the thing is one of the player is a power gamer using a gunslinguer/paladin/something.
he dealt insane amount of damage attacking vs touch ac.
is there a legal way to make the dragon survive more than two rounds? Is there a way to make him do normal attacks instead of touch ones, besides being far away?
what kind of minions do you recommend? any advise?
the party will be around lvl 13.

If you can post his build (levels, powers, and feats), then it's possible that there's something funny going on.

In general, though, it doesn't look like there's an easy defense available. The normal defense against bullets would be some sort of DR, but a paladin that can smite with a bullet would ignore all of that DR anyway.

How did you get a colossal white dragon, anyway? Your standard CR 17 Great Wyrm White knows Displacement and Wall of Force, but they don't really last long enough for you to cast before the fight.

exactly, it's a cr 17, the entire group plays like a pc Game. their characters are a bunch of feats, spells and things that only works in combat. they don't want to role play. so cr values doesn't count at all. I'l search the build.
yea smite evil sucks.

Whether or not they want to role play doesn't affect how powerful they are in combat. The paladin / gunslinger could be the best roleplayer in the world, and he would still be incredibly effective in combat.

The problem is just that some characters are much more effective in combat than were probably intended.

Oh, and if you want to be fair to the players, make it clear as they're advancing that the winds are amazingly strong, so they know what they're getting into. A PC spellcaster could prepare his or her own control winds or control weather spell to negate this effect. The dragon still should have fog cloud and stoneskin up, and as soon as the party gets near he uses mislead. Have the illusory dragon confront the party and draw their attacks for a couple rounds, while the dragon uses ice tomb. Wait for an opportune moment and split the party in two with a wall of force, then dive in and focus all your attacks on the gunslinger.

Use a CR 18 Great Wyrm white dragon, which is gargantuan. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/mo...ragon/chromatic-white/white-dragon-great-wyrm

It lairs atop a mountain, and constantly uses Control Weather to create a blizzard with winds over 50 miles per hour. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/environment/weather#Table-Wind-Effects

This makes ranged attacks impossible. Eat the gunslinger and laugh maniacally as you do it.

I was messed up, I was talking about the gargantuan one.

Thanks for the advices everyone. I'm taking note.
The wind trick is really nice for me. I will kill that player... character, I mean character...

fortification! I had a gunslinger/witch/some other crap classes player who basically could get a crit the first round of combat combined with five shots any creature I put out there was dead. However, some heavy fort put him in his place and gave other players the chance to shine.
