Watching that video, I'm pretty sure this was filmed long before there was a 3E, much less a 5E. The video quality, the hairstyles, and the fashion on the congregation definitely look to be from a couple decades ago.

Side note: I definitely thought that the image onscreen was distorted because of the way the pastor looked onscreen. Nope, I think he must('ve) really be(en) that wide. Big dude, for sure.

The guy has several other videos on Youtube, so you can see for yourself if that's his actual girth.
I just checked out his interview on Geraldo, which seems to confirm both the period and Pastor Worley's size.

The video linked in the original post is interesting, but only as a glimpse back into the so-called "satanic panic". That whole situation is really only tangentially related to D&D--it was just people with extreme beliefs creating a moral panic about a popular game they'd never played. On that note, I think we'd be best to curtail this discussion; it's not really about D&D or anything current, and it's going to be really, really easy for this to slide into both fat-shaming and religion-bashing, neither of which are especially cool. (Pretty sure we've got rules about at least one of those things here, too.)
