Chapter 10: niche-case scenario

Spoilers ahead if you've not yet read chapter 10.

So I'm probably the only GM that will ever need this question answered. And it's kind of an opinion-based manner, so I'd love if multiple people weighed in on this.

In chapter 10, the Ob move Av across the solar system. This has the interesting side effect of making all eladrins' fey step powers nonfunctional, but granting them the permanent ability to damage insubstantial creatures.

One of my players (a half-orc martial scientist ranger, if it matters) is taking the paragon path
Shinaelestran Guardian, which has a level 12 utility encounter power called Invisible Stride. It allows the character to teleport 5 squares and turn invisible, and the flavor text specifically mentions "calling on the power of the eladrin" to teleport.

Given the circumstances, I think that power is definitely getting changed when the Ob ritual completes. But should it grant the ability to "ghost touch" for one attack? One round? Until the encounter's end? Should the power still include a move? I can't decide.

I'd make the power turn you invisible for whatever duration it normally does, and grant the ability to harm ghosts (and other incorporeal creatures) until the end of the encounter.

Also I realized we didn't have any actual ghosts as enemies in adventure 10. But the power will help against gidim later on.

Thanks RW! This clears up a big headache for me.

Well, I kinda assumed it'd work against the Gidim (even though they're incorporeal for a very different reason); I guess there aren't *technically* any Gidim in chapter 10 either, but the hiveminds have the Thoughtform trait which specifically uses the "insubstantial" keyword, so there ya go.
